Why is it important to get rid of dust in your Factory?

Dust can be produced in a factory due to numerous reasons like forklift truck tyres, movement of products and personnel, by the movement of other vehicles and various such processes. In the presence of prescribed measures of proper cleaning it doesn’t cause an issue. However, the problem arises when the employees begin to show a complete disregard to this issue, and don’t make an effort to either clean the dust or understand the risks associated with dust accumulations.
Although the presence of dust in a factory may not seem like a significant problem, the fact remains that there are a number of very good reasons why companies should do everything within their limit and use compact dust collectors to prevent dust from occurring in their factories.

Health and wellbeing of employees - Smaller dust particles can easily get into the lungs, including the lower sections where they cannot just be dissolved in the bloodstream and can result in potentially serious health issues, such as the likes of allergies, lung disease and respiratory difficulties. Allergies and various forms of illnesses can also be caused in workers by larger particles of dust.

Impact on the machinery - Dust can have a serious impact on the accuracy and operational effectiveness of the machine, which generates additional wastage. Prolonged exposure to dust will also cause abrasion on moving parts, creating additional downtime to carry out part replacement and maintenance.

Reducing the value of finished goods and the brand - Dust makes things look old and sending out branded boxes and making new items look like they are old stock or as though they have been poorly cared for, devalues the product and the corporate brand.

Risk of Combustible Dust Explosion – There are numerous combinations of dust that become explosive under certain conditions. There have been many cases where uncleaned dust came into contact with an ignition source and exploded.

So what’s the solution? - The good news is there is a cost effective way to help deal with this problem and cut down on much of the dust in the environment. Compact dust collectors can be an excellent solution to dust, and the even better news is that they are quick, clean and easy to install. An industrial dust collector from good axial flow fan manufacturers is designed to make factory environment free of dust and fumes, therefore it is inherently environment-friendly. However, a properly designed dust collection system can contribute to sustainability in many other ways as well.
So what’s the result? - A cleaner environment not only has an impact on the overall presentation of the product to the client, causing fewer rejections but also increases employee happiness, motivation, productivity and more importantly health.
